CMP Construction approached Belcanto with a critical question: Could the project’s steel balustrade specification be replaced with aluminium without losing the clean architectural intent? Working closely with PB&A, the team developed a completely new mechanical system from the ground up. Designed for visual simplicity and fast installation, the solution eliminated welding, reduced weight, and delivered precision detailing through CNC fabrication.
From first engagement to site delivery, the timeline was just eight weeks. Our CNC router pre-drilled nearly 30,000 fixing holes, enabling a clean, consistent finish and rapid installation across the development. The team installed 600 linear metres of balustrades to balconies, podiums, stairwells, ducts and handrails, delivering architectural quality and solid performance.
Finished in Monument, a distinctive AkzoNobel colour, the Emissary balustrade gave the project a bold, cohesive look. Despite its minimalist appearance, the system exceeded structural requirements on site, offering greater rigidity than calculations predicted. The outcome is a testament to collaboration, balancing architectural intent, engineering performance and ease of construction.
